Anthony Osei-Brefoh

Anthony Osei-Brefoh was awarded the prestigious Tullow Group Scholarship to pursue MSc Petroleum Engineer at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, UK after graduating with First Class in Chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

He has always favoured applying theoretical concepts to practical industrial application in the chemistry related line of work. Reckoning the increasing difficulty in acquiring the requisite skills and understanding without being trained through it in an organised pattern, as in a corporation, especially in an age where technology is the predominant avenue of advancement and is accelerating swiftly, he seeks to orient and science himself through a department to garner and hone the best in advanced applied scientific and technical skills applicable to the extractive industry or its associated services industry.

The rigour attached to his studies in Petroleum Engineering in the U.K. reinforced his team play ability while engaging in the review of the Malampaya Project of Royal Dutch Shell and particularly in a field development project where his team perused slightly modified real field data from its geology to choosing a subsea tieback to an existing facility as the development plan. Role playing in the production design, formation evaluation and environmental and decommissioning statements ensured the team was awarded excellence in project.
