Biography

Eugene Nyansafo holds a  BSc Planning from KNUST and an MSc Geographical Information Service from the University of Manchester. He was awarded the scholarship in 2012.

Prior to the scholarship, Eugene worked as the Development Control Officer at the Town and Country Planning Department of the Assembly (Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly - STMA) for 3 years,  having been posted there for his National Service. During his years as the Development Control Officer he focused on improving transparency and standardising procedures in the Unit.

Upon his return from the UK, having successfully completed his studies, Eugene was posted to Shama District to head the Department. There, he continued the improvement of structures in place with the knowledge he had in STMA as well as GIS analysis into day to day office procedures. Two years after this role, he was transferred to the Head Office in Accra to join the GIS Unit where he is currently part of the team that undertakes training of District staff in the application of GIS and other tools for Land Use Planning.
