Nana Afua Denkye Baëta was a recipient of the Tullow Group Scholarship in its pioneer year in 2011. She graduated from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, in 2012, with an MSc. in Reservoir Evaluation and Management. Nana returned to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) where she was given a new role and an opportunity to apply her newly acquired knowledge to her job. 

She currently works as a Reservoir Engineer on Ghana’s most prolific oil field, the Jubilee Field, as well as ENI’s Sankofa - Gye Nyame Fields and is a part of GNPC’s Reserves Estimation Team. Nana provides mentorship to several young engineers and loves to see female engineers blossom and grow in their profession. 

Nana developed an interest in long distance running during her time at Heriot-Watt and has since participated in several international and local races, including the 2016 London Marathon. 

The Tullow Group Scholarship truly presented an opportunity of learning and self-discovery for Nana Baëta, has improved her professional career and made her a role-model to several young women.
