Zeph Kivungi



Zeph Kivungi has worked for 9 years in renewable energy, consultancy and financial services. Currently working for Africa's premier sustainability think-tank, ASCENT developing climate finance projects across 10 African countries and running eXurgy Limited a company that offers advisory services to independent power producers in East Africa. 

He has worked for an international development organisation and a leading renewable energy project development company developing green energy programmes and projects across East Africa. These include designing and implementing mini grids, solar power systems and biogas plants and energy efficiency and policy development. He consulted for Sugar millers, agroprocessors, among other manufacturers as well as Africa Sustainability Centre developing energy plans, policies and projects. He has also been involved in SE4ALL framework development for Kenya. He has worked as a Business Development Manager for solar and wind power systems in the region managing customer relationships and training both users and installers. 

He holds a MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from Glasgow Caledonian University (UK), Energy and Sustainability certification from University of Oslo (Norway), and BTech Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Moi University and has substantial experience in the energy and manufacturing sectors. Zeph’s skills are in Technical Sales, training and programme development/management. Zeph is also an awardee of the prestigious Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme, 2015.
