Terms and Conditions regarding the Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme
In submitting the Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme, applicants are confirming that the information provided is complete and accurate and that they will comply with laid down conditions.
Accuracy of Information
Your application (including any information provided at the interview or afterwards) should be accurate. Do not omit any facts that are relevant and must not be misleading.
If we find that there are significant omissions in the information you have supplied to us in the course of your application, your participation will be immediately withdrawn and terminated. The submission of false, misleading or inaccurate documents and information may be liable to criminal prosecution. The British Council reserves the right to, or may have to, give external organisations, including the Police, Local Authorities, examination boards or awarding bodies, information from your application form to prevent or detect fraud.
Notification of Emergency Contact
By submitting an application form, applicants confirm that they have informed their emergency contacts that their information has been made available to the British Council.
Notification of Referees
By submitting an application form, applicants confirm that they have informed their referees that they have given us their details.
Medical Declaration
By submitting an application form, applicants are declaring that they have no known medical conditions that will hinder their ability to undertake this scholarship.
Data Protection
Thank you for providing us with your personal information on this form. We will look after the information carefully and use it to consider your suitability for the Scholarship and to manage the application process. The information you have provided will be made available to staff at the British Council and Tullow Oil plc.
It may also be made available for the same reasons to members of any panel that interviews you. If you are successful, the information provided in the form, at the interview and at any other time, may be passed on to external consultants to obtain advice on suitable courses or other training opportunities in the UK, Ireland and France. Your information may also be passed to UK or Irish higher education institutions to help secure a place on a course in the UK or Ireland.
After confirmation is received of your placement for a course we will request your permission to use the information in new ways that will become necessary as you proceed to take up your Scholarship. If you are unsuccessful the information will be held securely and destroyed in due course.
We may want to use your information to send you details of British Council activities, services and events (including social events). We would only send you this information should you agree to be contacted in this way.
Applicants must note that the Tullow Group Scholarship Board has the right at any time during the final selection phase to refer applicants to an alternative university or course and not necessarily from the courses or universities chosen in the application form.
Please note that applicants will be contacted on the status of their application after the closing date of applications.
